Roelof joined Sequoia in 2003 and now serves as a managing partner and steward, overseeing the firm's U.S. and European operations. His investment focus is on internet, services, and software, and he has backed several notable companies, including MongoDB, Eventbrite, Unity, Block, and Bird. Last year, Roelof co-led the firm's $1 billion investment in Xaira, an AI drug-discovery firm. Other significant portfolio companies include Evernote and Instagram.
This is Philippe's fifth appearance on the Midas List. His portfolio includes DocuSign, Snyk, Chainalysis, and Melio. He was recently an investor in AI avatar platform Synthesia, and also spearheaded Accel's lead investment in data security firm Cyera. Philippe, now based in London, previously spent five years at Bessemer Venture Partners.
Byron, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, has led high-profile investments in AI and cloud computing, including in ServiceTitan. His portfolio includes Anthropic, Canva, Guild, and Perplexity. Previous investments in startups that are now public include DocuSign, Twilio, HashiCorp and SendGrid. Trigo Technologies, which he founded at age 25, was acquired by IBM in 2004.
Forbes describes Elad as "one of the most prolific solo venture investors." He has invested in a series of ‘decacorn’ startups, including Anduril, Perplexity, Figma, Deel, and Stripe. Earlier in his career, he worked on mobile products at Google including Maps and Gmail, and later worked at Twitter after it acquired his startup Mixer Labs. Elad is also the co-founder of the cancer-detection startup Color, which had a $4.6 billion valuation in 2021.
David joins the Midas List following successful investments in xAI, which merged with X, and SpaceX, now valued at $350 billion. He co-founded Craft Ventures in 2017, which now focuses on later-stage investments. Earlier, he served as PayPal's first product leader and COO, guiding the company's transition to online payments. His subsequent venture, Yammer, became one of the fastest-growing business tools and was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion just four years after its launch. He also serves as Advisor to the White House on AI and Cryptocurrency.
Marc founded Dragoneer Investment Group in 2012 and has transformed it into one of the largest growth investment firms. It now manages over $25 billion in capital. Dragoneer played a key role in two major tech IPOs of 2020, DoorDash and Airbnb. Marc also spearheaded the largest U.S. insurance services deal in 2016, a $2.6 billion leveraged buyout of AmWINS,. He is also a philanthropist, having established the Stad Center for Pediatric Pain at UCSF, and he serves on advisory boards at Stanford GSB and Harvard.
Allen is a managing director of GSR Ventures, which has more than $3 billion in AUM. It focuses on early-stage internet, mobile and new media companies. His investments include Chinese ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing retail platform HotMaxx, and digital product collaboration company Lanhu. Prior to GSR Ventures, he co-founded insurance company eBaoTech.
