McKinsey leveraged agentic AI to enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across sales and service divisions to scale for organizational transformation.
The challenge
The client faced inefficiencies in market access operations due to manual processes, siloed data, and decentralized insight. The market access operations team had deployed limited AI use cases compared to other commercial sub-domains. The client identified AI agents as enablers to empower teams to focus on higher-value work and handle increased workloads

The Solution
Collaborating with Microsoft, McKinsey helped the client quickly develop agentic AI POCs to streamline market access operations. McKinsey also conducted an art of the possible gen AI/agentic AI workshop with clients to identify 14 core use cases to address. Based on this, the team developed a 12- to 18-month phased deployment approach based on priority use cases, starting with building and testing POCs to accelerate output. The effort then progressed to a 6-month MVP build of targeted areas to expand knowledge and conduct a “big bang” style launch
The Result
McKinsey and Microsoft successfully deployed a Microsoft Copilot solution to deliver insights and support Commercial Sales in pre-call planning, which resulted in a 1–2 percent revenue increase. McKinsey also developed an integrated AI-enabled platform to review and correct Commercial Marketing content that led to a 5–20 percent reduction in content costs and streamline time to launch to 1–2 weeks
