AMG focuses on delivering airtight value creation for clients
McKinsey and Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) have launched the Amazon McKinsey Group (AMG)—a new collaboration designed to help organizations achieve enterprise-scale transformations with speed and impact. AMG combines McKinsey’s strategy and end-to-end transformation expertise with AWS’s AI capabilities and advanced cloud services into an integrated team to help organizations move from vision to value—faster.
As artificial intelligence, cloud, and automation reshape industries, transformation has become a C-suite and board-level priority. Yet many organizations struggle to translate strategic ambition into execution and sustained results. AMG was created to bridge that gap by integrating business strategy, advanced technology, and hands-on implementation within a single operating model. The collaboration aligns McKinsey’s business, digital, and executional capabilities with AWS advanced cloud and generative AI services to deliver measurable value. Its commercial model is tied directly to outcomes, targeting transformations with $1 billion or more in client impact.
AI-driven transformation requires business leadership paired with the infrastructure and AI capabilities to operationalize at scale.
“AI-driven transformation requires business leadership paired with the infrastructure and AI capabilities to operationalize at scale,” says Becca Coggins, Senior Partner and Global Leader of Capabilities, McKinsey. “AMG was built to help clients address their biggest opportunities—at billion-dollar scale—by combining business strategy, change management, and AWS’s global infrastructure and AI services from the start to capture value.”
AMG delivers transformation through an end-to-end model—from defining the vision to full-scale implementation. McKinsey and AWS teams work as one, eliminating the handoffs that often slow progress or dilute results. The teams collaborate on delivery to help customers achieve impact. The collaboration draws on AWS’s comprehensive capabilities—including a secure, global cloud infrastructure, broad AI model choice for price-performance optimization, and purpose-built tools to deploy AI agents at enterprise scale—combined with McKinsey’s deep industry and functional knowledge, technology expertise, and change leadership. This foundation gives customers what they need to not just integrate AI, but build competitive differentiation, helping clients to rewire entire value chains, not just individual functions.
Working together as one integrated team, we help customers accelerate their time to value—moving from AI pilots to enterprise-scale transformation faster.
A recent collaboration with a major automaker illustrates the impact AMG can deliver. Together, the teams built an AI-enabled supply chain operating system that connects planning, manufacturing, and sales through a single orchestration layer. The transformation achieved 85 percent forecast accuracy at the vehicle-specification level, reduced inventory by 60 percent, and improved customer satisfaction by 15 percent. By embedding AI-driven demand forecasting, digital twins, and real-time supplier collaboration, the automaker redefined its supply chain from a cost center into a growth engine—an example of how AMG helps clients combine technology, data, and culture to unlock resilience and value.
“The complexity of enterprise AI transformation—from choosing the right models to managing organizational change—requires partners who can deliver both technical depth and business expertise,” said Dr. Ruba Borno, Vice President, Global Specialists and Partners, AWS. “AWS provides customers with the broadest model choice for optimal price-performance, scalable global infrastructure, and comprehensive AI services. When combined with McKinsey’s deep expertise in business strategy and change management, working together as one integrated team, we help customers accelerate their time to value—moving from AI pilots to enterprise-scale transformation faster.”
