Mike advises leading companies in the life-sciences sector on strategy, talent, transformation, and organizational performance. He has a history of extensive international work, including supporting executives in Europe, Brazil, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and the United States.

Since joining McKinsey, Mike has worked on a diverse range of challenges, with a focus on the dynamics of the pharmaceutical and animal-health industries. Much of his work involves developing growth strategies, shaping global organizations, and supporting organization-wide transformation.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • leading a comprehensive talent strategy to support a biotech in its transformation
  • creating a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for a major specialty-pharmaceutical company
  • leading productivity programs for several specialty-pharmaceutical companies across commercial, manufacturing, general and administrative, and research and development
  • crafting a leadership and talent capability-building program for a global pharmaceutical company

Before joining McKinsey, Mike worked in the government and not-for-profit sectors, serving at the United Nations, the US State Department, and several nongovernmental and research organizations.

A former freelance journalist in Syria and Lebanon, he has lived and worked in across Europe and the Middle East. Mike serves on the International Rescue Committee’s New York leadership committee. He is a native speaker of English and fluent in Arabic, French, and Spanish.
