Applies advanced analytics to enhance core commercial and operational processes, enabling performance improvements for core industrial clients

Jeff is one of McKinsey’s leading thinkers on bringing artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve core commercial sales and operations processes for core industrial clients, including those in chemicals, energy, and metals and mining.

A key partner with QuantumBlack, Jeff oversaw the development of our proprietary B2B commercial analytics platform that converted McKinsey’s best thinking on sales and pricing into reusable software that any B2B client can use.

Examples of Jeff’s recent work include the following:

  • standing up a commercial analytics center of excellence that leverages machine learning to recommend prices and includes new processes and training programs. This new capability is on track to deliver more than $200 million in additional margin for a petrochemical company
  • supporting development of a digital factory, including operating model and skill building, for a midstream oil and gas company; the first product focused on identifying data issues and increasing uptime on critical assets
  • partnering with a sports team on an analytics transformation to fully embed its use of technology and advanced analytics

Outside of McKinsey, Jeff is a board member for Combined Arms, a not for profit focused on improving the effectiveness of organizations that provide support to military veterans and their families.
