A leader in McKinsey’s Operations Practice, with broad international experience in supporting large-scale operational, organizational, and technology transformation for clients across industries

Rodrigo joined McKinsey in our Madrid office in 2006 and later transferred to Paris. He spent 8 years supporting large-scale transformation programs for clients across Europe, with a focus on operations, technology, and organization in the financial services and industrial sectors.

He is committed to helping companies navigate a changing economy and tap into new sources of value through efficiency improvement and margin optimization.

Rodrigo’s client experience includes architecting a company-wide efficiency program for a global financial services company, covering all corporate functions and including operations, IT, finance, risk, and legal. He also supported the transformation of the division of financial and strategic planning of a large Latin American financial institution, spanning organizational design, consolidation, and end-to-end process optimization.

Other experience in the financial-services sector includes supporting a large Latin American financial group in the digital transformation of its core end-to-end processes. Rodrigo has also supported large-scale IT transformations for two large European corporate and investment banks, covering both application development and support. He has helped design and roll out a company-wide operational transformation for a major insurance group in Europe.

For industrial clients, Rodrigo’s experience includes supporting an operational transformation program for a leading global steel manufacturer through process and maintenance optimization and redefining its governance and management approach. He worked with an oil-and-gas company to redefine its corporate governance and organizational design. And he undertook a broad, end-to-end diagnostic for a leading consumer-packaged-goods firm in Latin America, covering sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Rodrigo worked for 6 years in applying lean methodologies, first as a senior consultant at Anbor Consulting in Barcelona, then at Ficosa International as a senior continuous improvement engineer, and later as plant manager for Ficosa’s Barcelona production facility. He has also worked for the US Department of Energy in Michigan and as a researcher at Caterpillar in Russia and Ukraine.
