I expected my McKinsey colleagues to be highly talented individuals, but I did not imagine they would invest so heavily in my personal and professional growth.

Working with top talent and senior leaders

I first heard about McKinsey when I was an intern at a local private equity firm. I was working with a couple of people who had previously been part of the Lima office, and they spoke very fondly of their experiences. As I learned more about the firm and its work, my interest grew. I was particularly attracted to the opportunity to work with talented people and the high degree of exposure to senior clients.

Exploring the region—and the world

As a highly connected global firm, McKinsey offers the opportunity to explore different industries and countries across Latin America —and the world. Within a short time after joining, I helped a bank transform its risk practice in Chile, worked with a consumer-goods company to optimize its procurement processes in Colombia, and supported a Latin American multinational assess a potential buyout target in Peru.

Rapid growth, driven by passion

McKinsey has helped me build structure both in the way I think and in the way I work. It has also helped me get to know myself better. We are encouraged to proactively pursue our passions and set goals to continuously improve both professionally and personally.

Real support and collaboration

I expected my McKinsey colleagues to be highly talented individuals, but I did not imagine they would invest so heavily in my personal and professional growth. People who work here tend to be very collaborative, which enriches your daily work and creates a powerful support network.

For anyone considering applying, I would encourage you to talk to people and ask questions. You can contact consultants in the Lima office to get a better feel for what a career at McKinsey offers.
