Alonso is Partner and Office manager in McKinsey Lima, as well as the leader of the firm’s digital and analytics work for banks in Latin America.

He specializes in digital transformations, agile, and IT in banking, and participates in business agility, digital, strategy, operations, risk, and IT projects in multiple industries.

Some of his recent work includes the following:

  • supporting multiple Latin American companies through digital transformation strategies
  • helping a leading bank in the region define its agile at-scale organization and implementation roadmap
  • developing a multiyear digital implementation program at a bank in Latin America, including the creation of a center of excellence, development of digital prototypes, scaling of digital solutions and the development of digital capabilities for team members
  • working with a bank in Latin America to develop a transformation of corporate and commercial functions for risk and collection business units
  • diagnosing operational efficiencies in branches and back-office operations, credit cards, mortgages and payments, for a top-tier bank, which resulted in the identification of multiple growth opportunities
  • carrying out the transformation of a collection risk-analysis model in a multinational telecommunications company
  • supporting the design and launch of multiple new digital businesses across industries
  • leading several resilience efforts to support clients during the COVID-19 pandemic

Prior to joining McKinsey, Alonso spent more than seven years as an account manager.
