Vijay brings decades of technology leadership to help global companies successfully pursue digital transformations and achieve competitive advantages. He serves clients in banking, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, energy, and other sectors, delivering digital transformations to improve customer-experience design. This work requires the IT function to transition to a continuous-delivery and -integration approach, including establishing cloud-enabled DevOps, building agile skill sets, and addressing the challenges of “two-speed” IT.
In his current role, Vijay helps executives set digital strategy and pursue digital transformation in technology delivery from A to C—from apps to cloud/core systems. Recently, he helped launch two digital banks in Southeast Asia by establishing customer journeys for retail, business banking, and lending. He also led the delivery of straight-through provisioning for a Southeast Asian telecommunications company by guiding an “iJoin” digital journey. And he co-led the development of a digital accelerator for a telecommunications company to help speed up the implementation of digital self-care channels significantly.
Before rejoining McKinsey, in 2015, Vijay spent two decades in executive IT-leadership roles at some of Asia’s largest and most innovative corporations. He began his professional career as a software developer at Motorola in the United States.
Named one of India’s most progressive and innovative CIOs by the Economic Times, Vijay is a sought-after keynote speaker and expert panelist at industry events, such as the Cloud Tech Forum. He is often noted in the media as an IT leader who can articulate the challenges faced by enterprises attempting to cross the chasm from being cloud ready to being fully cloud native.
