About Vadim

Vadim has been with the firm since 2006 and has been involved in projects in Russia, the US, Israel, the UK, Kazakhstan and a number of other countries, predominantly in the oil & gas, petrochemical and other resource sectors.

He works with leading Russian and global companies on a wide range of issues, including devising strategy and organizational models and improving operational and investment performance. He is one of the leaders of McKinsey’s Capital Productivity practice and also of our Oil & Gas practice.

Examples of recent projects:

  • development and implementation of an integrated performance improvement program in fuel retail in Russia;  
  • development of an integrated program to improve investment efficiency and optimize capital projects for an international chemical company;  
  • preparation of a long-term field development plan, integrated cost optimization of a mega project to expand production, and development of procurement and contracting strategies as part of an integrated large-scale project for a leading global oil & gas company JV;
  • design of business development and marketing strategies in the lubricants, jet fuel, LPG and natural gas segments; 
  • development and implementation of an investment and major project management model for a mining company. 

Prior to joining McKinsey, Vadim was one of the founders of an internet startup in Silicon Valley and managed projects in the telecoms sector in the CIS.
