Sujit Chakrabarty is a partner in McKinsey’s Mumbai office. He leads our Business Technology Practice in India as well as our Outsourcing and Offshoring Practice across Asia.
Sujit has deep expertise in applying the Lean continuous-improvement methodology to IT, and has served multiple clients on this topic. For example, he led one of the largest Lean implementations globally, for a major Indian IT services company—targeting 15-20 percent productivity improvements across all aspects of IT. For a European bank, he led an end-to-end Lean application development and maintenance transformation across five countries. He led the global Lean rollout for a leading software company across application development, maintenance, testing, and operations, covering India, Canada, and the U.S.
Sujit leads Project360, a tool for achieving operational excellence in IT services, developed by McKinsey in partnership with India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). The tool has been deployed in over 30 organisations.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Sujit worked with Tata Motors. He also completed an internship with HSBC in its retail banking division.
