About Stephen

Stephen serves clients as part of Digital McKinsey. He works with leading firms to develop digital and IT strategies, transform IT operations, implement agile and lean principles, and ensure organizations build the capabilities necessary to respond to the high demands of existing in a digital world.

A thought leader on digital, agile, and two-speed IT, Stephen organizes McKinsey’s CIO roundtable in Denmark. He is also deeply committed to the firm’s Digital Quotient knowledge initiative, which he heads in Northern Europe.

Stephen works with diverse clients across multiple industries, including partnerships with global advanced-industries organizations seeking to radically simplify their IT operating models, multinational finance organizations building sustainable digital capabilities, and telcos embarking on end-to-end transformations. His experience serving telcos includes optimizing group IT and network operations, exploring a next-generation approach to dramatically transform customer experience, and reducing costs through the delivery of integrated digital solutions. Other examples of recent client work include helping a pension provider design a five-year digital transformation of its back-office operations and customer interface and supporting a major national transport organization in the creation of its mobility strategy.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Stephen was an executive at First Data, where among other responsibilities, he managed multiple operations and delivery teams throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and the United States.
