Applies experience in operations to help manufacturing organizations successfully implement global transformations

Sergio re-joined the firm with almost 20 years of operations experience, across different geographies and sectors, including tires, white goods, luxury goods and food. He first joined McKinsey in 2005 and then spent several years in industry, first as COO for Luxottica (world leader in premium, luxury and sports eyewear) and then as production manager for Rana (world-renowned small cap active in food).

Sergio has a strong track record across broader operations topics, in particular on supply chain, plants and purchasing performance transformation. Passionate about sustainability, Sergio managed many projects to help managers take decisions that are more ‘responsible’.

Now back with McKinsey, Sergio is responsible for the Mediterranean Implementation team, where he develops and supports the group of experienced Implementers. Examples of his work include:

  • large-scale transformation for a multinational mechanical company. Sergio leads the operation workstream, coordinating five teams on three continents. Conversion cost reduction up to 30 percent with more than 230 projects
  • airport investment management in order to double the passenger and aircraft capacity with a ‘special eye’ on the customer experience during the constructions works
  • strategy redesign, organization and implementation support for a producer of big excavators
