Rob has led the McKinsey Costa Rica Knowledge Center (CRKC) since mid-2011, driving rapid growth and increasing the number of professionals from 35 to more than 140 across 25 teams. CRKC works primarily with clients in North America and is making a strong push to increase contributions to client priorities in South America.
With the support and collaboration of his colleagues, Rob has built a culture of innovation within CRKC, scaling up and refining capabilities developed in the firm and bringing them into the region. He oversees the development of new capabilities, including a proprietary recursive-growth tool, developed in collaboration with the Strategy Practice, which helps clients assess inorganic growth opportunities.
In addition, Rob encourages the growth of direct client service, with 10 percent of CRKC’s knowledge professionals working on-site with clients at any given time. He has also supported the development of new client relationships within the public and private sectors in Costa Rica, and he has helped multinational companies establish a presence in the country. In addition, he frequently partners with the Business Technology Practice, helping clients build unique research and analytics capabilities.
Rob has played a lead role in transforming our global geographic research function, which includes more than 90 researchers in Costa Rica, India, and Poland. In this role, he has driven a multiyear transformation program, substantially changing the talent model, introducing a culture of innovation, and changing the geographic footprint of the team.
