About Raphael

Raphael works alongside client leaders to implement pragmatic business solutions that result in major savings. With first-hand experience in the nuances of operational transformation—especially changing front-line behaviors—he helps clients implement major initiatives in a range of process-intensive sectors, including banking, mining, and basic materials. He is an experienced coach, capable of influencing effectively at all levels of an organization, and brings strategic thinking and energy to challenge and inspire his clients.

His recent work includes:

  • Managing the implementation of a new shared service model for one of the world’s largest banks, resulting in 10-20 percent spend reduction for key divisions and a sustained change in work practices
  • Leading client managers, supervisors, and front-line operators at a top global mining company as they drove an effort to reduce external spend; the program identified more than $900 million in savings over 2 years
  • Partnering with the chief procurement officer of a leading aluminum producer to deliver over $100 million in tangible procurement savings via a more entrepreneurial approach

     

Before joining McKinsey, Raphael was a senior executive at a leading cable TV company, with responsibility for go-to-market strategy and consumer insights. He has also served in operational roles in the airline industry. He began his career as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in Europe.
