About Puneet

Puneet has more than 15 years of global experience in consulting and line-industry roles across strategy, sales, digital, and operations. He is also the location leader for McKinsey's Delhi office. Since joining the firm in 2008, Puneet has served leading companies, particularly in the technology sector, with a focus on strategy, marketing and sales, and operations. He also has deep expertise in digital, automation, and shared services.

Puneet’s recent work in the technology sector includes the following:

  • led a digital transformation effort for a global multinational software company, including a portfolio shift toward cloud and new technologies and a massive digital reskilling effort
  • developed a corporate and business-unit strategy to double revenues for a leading IT-services provider
  • led the marketing-and-sales transformation for a leading IT, business-process-outsourcing, and analytics provider
  • created the growth blueprint for a technology-services company
  • built the India footprint for a leading high-tech provider
  • supported operations excellence and lean transformation for a leading technology provider

In addition, Puneet recently led the Digital India Innovator Task Force with NASSCOM and several leading technology companies to bring global digital and technology ideas to India across education, healthcare, and tourism.

He also serves the world’s leading investors and private-equity firms on investment strategy, origination, due diligence, and transformation in the technology sector. In financial services, Puneet has worked with three of the top ten global financial institutions on operations, IT transformation, corporate functions, digital, and shared services. He led the shared-services strategy and implementation for a top five global insurance provider, including the build-out of global delivery sites, operations standards, ownership decisions, assets, and governance. He has recently helped one of the largest public-sector banks in India with its operations and shared-services build-out.

Puneet has led digital and automation initiatives for several large operations groups (captives and providers), including automation and lean efforts to improve service operations at more than 50 global delivery centers.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Puneet was a deputy general manager with IBM Global Services, where he played several roles, including solutions and transition leader for IT and operations. Puneet is a certified IBM Six Sigma black-belt leader.
