Naveen Unni is a partner in McKinsey’s Perth office. He leads our Organization Practice in Australia, with a special focus on leadership development, talent management, and HR excellence.
Naveen works with clients in multiple sectors, including retail and hospitality, oil and gas, metals and mining, industrial equipment manufacturing, and engineering and construction. He advises businesses on a range of strategic, operational, and organizational challenges, and has a particular passion for helping organizations improve their performance and develop their leaders.
Among recent projects, Naveen has:
- Led a lean operations transformation for a construction group, helping to create a framework for the transformation, implement lean methods at pilot sites, roll them out across the network, and build organizational capabilities
- Supported a multi-year leadership development program at a major infrastructure company by helping to devise and deliver a program for 200 middle and 30 senior managers, design supporting HR systems and processes, and ensure sustainability
- Served a large energy company undertaking a business transformation, contributing to the shaping of business goals, the definition of critical processes, and the development of a cadre of leaders
- Advised a major Indian bank on a large-scale leadership program involving 7,000 leaders in two years to enable the organization to meet ambitious productivity goals.
Outside his client work, Naveen is involved in McKinsey research on tackling short-term approaches to business management through the development of longer-term perspectives and more efficient capital allocation.
