About Mikhail

Mikhail joined McKinsey in 2011 and leads projects to improve capital project performance in the EEMA region (Eastern Europe, CIS, Middle East, Turkey and Africa).

His focus is on overall operational performance improvement and major investment project governance in the metals & mining sector and power generation.

Examples of recent projects:

  • creation of an operating model for a large-scale investment project by a major Russian metals company; 
  • restructuring of a large industrial holding in Russia;
  • strategy design for a leading Russian engineering company;
  • development of a target industry model for rail freight transportation for Russia’s biggest rail company; 
  • support in managing a project to construct a large gold mining and refining facility in Russia. 

Prior to joining McKinsey, Mikhail worked as Vice President for Strategy at TVEL Corporation (Rosatom’s fuel division).

He holds a PhD in economics.
