Mahin has built and led design studios, and helped some of the world’s largest brands unlock massive digital revenue. He is deeply experienced in bringing successful brands and award-winning products and services to market.
At McKinsey, Mahin has overseen multiple experience-design projects across a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, financial services, and telecom. Most recently, Mahin has been at the center of driving design-led digital transformations for several large industrial companies that will drive productivity and efficiency. Mahin also envisioned and led a digital solution for a leading telecom that is directly securing 100,000 new annual subscribers. At a North American bank, he developed and co-led a groundbreaking revision of the onboarding process that unlocked over $40 million in untapped revenue. At a worldwide music corporation, he developed and led a design-specific study that accelerated the path to a $50 million opportunity.
Mahin’s spoken and written content contributions have been featured by Accenture Insurance Advisory Board, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Fjord’s annual Trends report, Gizmodo, MAGIC, National Association of Broadcasters, and National Science Foundation.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Mahin served as senior vice president at digital service-design consultancy Fjord (part of Accenture Interactive), where he established and led the San Francisco studio. His career also includes positions at Frog Design, Intel, Palm, and early dot-com consultancy Scient.
