About Liz

Liz is a leader of McKinsey’s Private Equity & Principal Investors Practice globally. In this capacity, she helps oversee our advisory support to private-equity firms, family offices, institutional investors, and sovereign wealth funds. She previously led our consumer work globally.

Since joining McKinsey in 1989, Liz has worked with leaders in more than 15 global markets to set growth strategies and achieve organizational transformation. She has experience advising public and private companies with annual revenues in the millions, in addition to advising sector-leading multinationals with revenues in the billions.

Liz drives performance step change and develops lasting counseling relationships with executives. With private-equity clients, she leads due-diligence efforts and works to improve the performance of portfolio companies across industries. With consumer companies, she helps clients craft and implement strategies that boost top-line growth, lower costs, and manage operational complexity on a global basis.

Examples of her work include the following:

  • leading the largest-ever consumer-goods post-merger integration across ten categories in more than 20 countries by redesigning business processes, addressing cultural differences, and capturing cost and revenue targets
  • guiding strategic due-diligence efforts for more than 50 B2C and B2B companies on behalf of private-equity and strategic buyers, including identifying growth opportunities and business and compliance risks
  • working with a major luxury-apparel company to improve top-line growth and improve margins by introducing a new pricing architecture
  • designing a multiyear transformation for a major global consumer-products company, including counseling the CEO, transforming the product portfolio through M&A, reducing costs, and building board alignment
  • partnering in a 3-year turnaround of a global personal-care company; leading teams in ten countries to improve customer service, increasing profitability in key categories, and improving performance in emerging markets

Based in Boston, Liz is also active in the local community. She serves on the visiting committee of the Harvard Business School, is an overseer of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College, and is a trustee of the Winsor and Cristo Rey Schools.

Liz holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School, where she was designated a Baker Scholar, and graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with AB and BE degrees in engineering.
