Kristi advises consumer-packaged-goods and retail organizations on a range of topics, including organizational design and transformation, postmerger management, category strategy, innovation, and growth, as well as retailer collaboration and sales strategy. She leads our consumer organizational work in the Americas and has led more than 15 organizational-design efforts, including four integrations in the past 3 years.
Examples of her recent work include helping a leading global retailer build a new organizational design capability across more than 100 markets, including designing the organizational structure, developing role descriptions, and supporting the talent selection approach across functions.
For a Fortune 500 consumer-goods company, Kristi supported a global strategic category review and the development of an optimal portfolio, which focused both on strengthening brand health and improving margins. As part of the work, she helped size the investments required to achieve the growth aspiration. She also helped develop a 3-year portfolio strategy for another large consumer-goods company—defining consumer-specific category and brand strategies across a large product portfolio and identifying opportunities for future innovation.
In other work, Kristi supported a profit-improvement program for a single-category market leader, including integration of a major acquisition. The work spanned pricing, design to value, and operations transformation—and resulted in a doubling of profitability. She also helped two large food companies deliver significant cost synergies and position the combined organization for growth and category leadership in both retail and food service. This included setting up the integration management office and helping direct multiple value-capture teams.
Kristi has two sons and has experimented with a variety of flexible programs, including serving predominately local clients in Chicago.
Kristi serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Chicago.
Before joining McKinsey, Kristi was a consultant with Deloitte Consulting.
