About Kjartan

Kjartan is a partner in McKinsey’s Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment, High Tech, and Organization Practices. He leads our merger-management work in Scandinavia. With over 10 years of experience across industries, Kjartan possesses deep knowledge of transformations and mergers and acquisitions. He understands the intricacies of large- and small-scale integrations and company-wide transformational change.

Kjartan advises leading telecommunications, media, technology, consumer, and retail companies across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East,. Recent examples of his client work include the following:

  • Supporting a global telco in a large-scale cost-and-revenue-transformation effort
  • Leading a large reorganization at a global telco
  • Leading two of the largest cross-border integrations in the tech, media, and telecom sector; each is valued at over $20 billion
  • Leading multiple procurement transformations, one of which focused on establishing a centralized, high-performing procurement company for an industry leader
  • Advising a business-to-business and business-to-consumer retailer on strategy, cost transformation, and venture strategy
  • Supporting digitalization efforts at a leading bank, including automating and digitalizing the client’s customer processes
  • Passionate about change and transformation, Kjartan leads some of McKinsey’s knowledge efforts on agile organizations, transformational change, change management, as well as merger management.
