Jon Cummings is a senior partner at McKinsey & Company and has been with the firm since 1987. He began his career in Chicago. He subsequently moved to the Johannesburg office as the founding office manager and spent eight years, building an extensive network across South Africa and the broader continent.
Deeply experienced in all aspects of the industry, Jon works with leading consumer-packaged-goods companies in food, beverages, and home and personal care. He has supported multi-national consumer-packaged-goods clients on topics ranging from revenue growth management, to regulatory strategy, to e-commerce, to organization design. He has been involved in many programmatic transformations, and is an expert in M&A, strategy, and merger management.
Having been involved in many of the largest consumer mergers over the years, Jon now co-leads our merger management practice in the Americas. He is also a member of the leadership team for New Ventures, overseeing the development and scaling of consulting service lines with "new to McKinsey" delivery models.
A graduate of Yale College, Jon was a Marshall Scholar at the London School of Economics. He serves on the advisory board of the Yale School of Management and is on the boards of the African Leadership Academy, African Parks, and the Yale Center for Consumer Insights.
