About Ishaan

Ishaan is a senior partner in the New York office and leads our work in the Americas in serving CFOs as part of the Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice. He is also a leader in the Banking & Securities Practice and serves a range of clients in the financial-services sector, including retail banks, wholesale institutions, insurance companies, asset managers, and private-equity firms.

Ishaan advises clients with a number of major cost and organizational performance transformations across a broad variety of corporate and support functions. His work has involved a range of efficiency and effectiveness initiatives, with a particular focus on offshoring and outsourcing, shared services, and organizational strategy. He has also counseled CFOs about their roles, the role of finance, portfolio strategy, and organizational issues. Ishaan has been instrumental in the development of a number of McKinsey’s tools and methodologies for addressing productivity within the finance function.

Beyond his core financial-services clients, Ishaan uses his deep functional expertise to serve clients across a broad range of industry sectors, including technology, information services, retail, pharma, and healthcare. He also leads McKinsey’s efforts in serving private-equity firms on financial-services topics, including due diligence on transactions and portfolio-company turnarounds. He also leads McKinsey’s recruiting efforts in North America.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Ishaan worked in investment banking with Morgan Stanley in its leveraged-finance group in New York and London. His work focused on structuring leveraged-buyout debt financing for private-equity and corporate clients.
