Hasan Muzaffar is a senior partner in McKinsey’s Dubai office and leads our Private Equity and Principal Investors Practice in the Middle East. He serves several leading sovereign and principal investors and conglomerates in the region on investments, corporate strategy, portfolio strategy, due diligence, and portfolio restructuring.
Hasan has served investors on a range of strategy topics, including defining blueprints for new funds and investment vehicles; and aligning stakeholders on the risk-return trade-offs of funds and investment vehicles. He has also developed detailed sector-level and asset-class strategies in more than 10 sectors and asset classes in 15 different engagements.
Hasan has supported investors in different areas of their operating models—detailing core investment processes, portfolio-review processes and decisions, and risk-management architecture. Further, he has been involved in more than 20 major due-diligence efforts and transactions spanning eight geographies and six sectors, with a total transaction value of more than $120 billion.
In addition to serving investors and conglomerates on investment topics, Hasan has helped clients with portfolio improvement and restructuring in infrastructure, real estate, industrials, logistics and financial services sectors. In several instances, he has supported owners in creating value-creation plans for their portfolios and in driving the implementation.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Hasan worked at Imperial Chemical Industries for a period of 4 years in different product management and supply chain roles.
