About Gergely

Gergely leads McKinsey’s global FinTech initiative and co-leads our work in digital banking and insurance. In his client work he focuses on driving successful digital transformations for incumbent banks, as well as designing and quickly setting up innovative attackers.

Gergely is also a leader of our Digital Labs offering, which combines data science, human-centered design, and the latest rapid-development techniques to help clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses.

Examples of his recent work include:

  • supporting the digital transformation of a Central European bank – including defining the aspiration and roadmap, and developing and helping implement specific initiatives in customer journey redesign, big data, and organizational transformation.
  • developing the end-to-end concept design and go-to-market plan for a mobile payment start-up – from consumer insight research through to detailed design of the solution.
  • shaping the mobile banking strategy for an Eastern European banking group, including identifying key technologies, developing business plans and go-to-market strategies under different scenarios, and identifying implementation requirements.
  • conducting a feasibility analysis and designing the go-to-market strategy and business plan for a greenfield, pure direct bank in Eastern Europe. The work included evaluating different business models and designing key elements of the value proposition.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Gergely worked as a digital account manager at Kirowski, a leading Hungarian online agency.
