Fernando is the managing partner for McKinsey in Latin America, responsible for locations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Central America, and the Caribbean. He serves clients throughout all of Latin America and has been based in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo. He formerly led our Financial Services Practice in the region.

Since joining the firm in 1999, Fernando has collaborated with executives across Brazil and many Central American nations. While he has distinguished himself through advisory work in the financial-services sector, he has also guided engagements for companies in the retail, pharmaceutical, and energy industries.

The hallmark of Fernando’s work is transformation. He focuses on making lasting and substantial change within core company functions, such as operations and sales. He helps guide cultural-change efforts and, with the increasing importance of innovation and agility, has led major turnarounds focused on fostering digital excellence.

With a keen interest in economic and community development, Fernando supports local nonprofit organizations.

Fernando has lived in six countries and is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English and Portuguese.
