About Ernestos

Ernestos co-leads our Financial Institutions Practice in Greece and Cyprus and is a member of our European Banking and Securities and Risk Management Practices. He is one of McKinsey’s key experts in stress testing and credit loss mitigation.

Ernestos’ recent client engagements include:

  • supporting a supervisor in finalizing preparations related to governance, processes, capability building, and tools for the launch of a large stress-testing exercise
  • developing responses and remediation plans to address comprehensive capital analysis and review (CCAR) stress test regulatory feedback for the retail and wholesale credit portfolios of a top-five United States bank
  • leading CCAR stress test preparations for wholesale and retail credit portfolios of a top-five United States bank, including governance setup, review and challenge of loss-estimation models, model documentation, and management of regulatory submissions
  • developing and supporting the implementation of an advanced-model risk-management framework (covering statistical and non-statistical methodologies) for a top-five United States bank
  • supporting European Central Bank regulatory stress test efforts for a European systemic bank, including modeling pre-provision net revenues and preparing regulatory submissions
  • designing and supporting the implementation of special assets units for two European systemic banks, managing troubled assets across all stages of delinquency
  • designing retail collections advanced statistical segmentation tools, strategies, and restructuring solutions for a European systemic bank
  • defining a transformation plan—including five-year financial targets and strategic initiatives—and setting up a transformation office for a Middle Eastern bank
