Leads McKinsey Sustainability in Australia and New Zealand; supports private- and public-sector clients on strategy, growth, and building capabilities to navigate energy and materials adaptation to climate change

For the last two decades, David has collaborated with clients across the private and public sectors in Australia and across Asia on tough strategic and execution challenges.

As the leader of McKinsey Sustainability for Australia and New Zealand, his focus is helping clients seize the opportunities created by the energy transition: to shape portfolios, build new capabilities, improve the productivity of capital investments, and pursue growth through the adoption of low-carbon technologies. He also advises clients on how to mitigate and adapt to the risks posed by climate change.

David’s recent work includes the following:

  • helping develop a low-emissions technology roadmap for a country
  • building a new renewable-energy-and-storage business
  • accelerating the development of off-grid renewable-energy projects
  • assessing onshore manufacturing opportunities for a renewable-energy developer
  • assessing the potential to accelerate low-emissions steel production
  • developing an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) traceability strategy for a leading commodity company
  • developing a comprehensive decarbonization roadmap for a major resources company
