About Darya

Darya joined McKinsey’s Moscow office in 1999 and currently leads the Operation Practice in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She has led a number of large-scale turnaround programs for Russian industrial companies aimed at improving operational efficiency and building new management processes and systems. She also supports clients in building expertise and capabilities, including lean capabilities and management of large capital projects.

Darya focuses on serving clients in the oil and gas, chemicals, and the transport, infrastructure, and logistics industries.

Recent projects in the oil and gas and chemical industries include developing and launching a complex program to improve operational efficiency, which covered all key areas from managing technological processes to planning and organizing maintenance to energy saving. She also recently helped develop a procurement transformation program for the upstream sector of an oil and gas group, including design of a new organizational structure and procurement processes, as well as developing initiatives to capture the savings potential. Other projects include designing programs to optimize logistics costs and developing an integrated corporate KPI and management information system.

Darya helps lead our global Capital Projects & Infrastructure Practice. In this area, she has worked with clients to develop investment strategies, optimize project concepts and solutions in the oil refining and petrochemical industries, and optimize the terms of implementation of large investment projects, building highly efficient management systems and processes in investment and capital construction, and helping clients to develop best-in-class skills and competencies among employees.

Darya also has extensive experience in the transport, infrastructure, and logistics sector, particularly with respect to strategy development, regulatory and investment strategies, and efficiency improvement. Darya manages McKinsey’s research on Russia’s gas and petrochemical industry, supporting international teams with in-depth analyses of the Russian market.

Darya is one of the leaders of McKinsey’s international program Women in Business in Moscow.

Before joining McKinsey, Darya worked for Eli Lilly and Co.
