About Chirag

Chirag is a partner in McKinsey’s Gugugram office in India. His primary areas of focus are healthcare-service providers and medical-device companies. While at McKinsey, Chirag has spent the majority of his time in Delhi and London. He was also part of the founding team that set up the McKinsey Hospital Institute in the United Kingdom.

Some of his recent work includes the following:

  • developing an internationalization strategy for a leading hospital network in India
  • helping a large tertiary hospital in Malaysia increase revenues across departments
  • driving an 18-month performance transformation for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization at a midtier hospital chain in India
  • conducting a performance diagnostic on a hospital chain in Indonesia, as well as in the Middle East
  • developing a new business-model strategy for two large conglomerates
  • conducting five due diligences on various healthcare assets in India (for example, hospitals and specialized clinics)
  • developing a detailed strategy in diagnostics for a new entrant
  • leading a productivity-improvement program for therapeutic and diagnostic-imaging departments at one of the leading hospitals in London
  • working closely with the CEO of one of the largest hospital chains in India in designing and implementing an operations-improvement and clinical-pathway-design program
  • designing a market-entry strategy for single-specialty clinics for a business conglomerate
  • leading the development of McKinsey International Hospital Benchmarks (MIHOBS) and rolling it out to approximately 100 hospitals in Southeast Asia
