About Alexey

Since joining McKinsey & Company in 2005 Alexey has developed an extensive global experience in serving the public sector as well as financial institutions and telecommunications providers.

Alexey has worked with large universal banks in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on holistic transformations, which included corporate strategy and implementation (both for established institutions and greenfield players), performance management and organization, end-to-end credit process optimization, turning around the collections function, and improving customer-facing processes at branches. He also has experience leading a comprehensive turnaround program for a major nonlife insurer, identifying and implementing initiatives in underwriting, claims management, and sales channels.

Alexey has supported telecommunications providers in the CIS and North America on projects such as strategy, postmerger management, comprehensive operational transformations across several geographies, setting up performance management and key performance indicators, procurement of network equipment, as well as organizational redesign. Alexey also has experience supporting a major advanced electronics company on merger management and operational transformation.

With clients in the public sector, Alexey has worked on a number of economic development projects, in particular related to improving economic resilience in oil-dependent economies, as well as on tax policy, industrial strategies and reforms—in agriculture and manufacturing, for example—and macroeconomic modeling. Alexey also supported the setting up of the delivery unit for a government client, which included identifying priorities to be run through the delivery unit, establishing the delivery-unit organization processes and review cadences, supporting and moderating delivery labs, and challenging the end products of the labs.

Prior to McKinsey, Alexey worked at EY Law as a tax and legal advisor and at a budget-planning department of a major universal bank.

A native speaker in Russian, Alexey is fluent in English. He also obtained his certification as a public accountant in the state of Maine in 2002.
