About Aamer

Aamer is a leader in our Business Technology Practice in the Americas. Since joining McKinsey in 2009, he has supported financial institutions, government agencies, and professional-services providers on a range of topics, including business transformation, information and data strategies, go-to-market strategies, risk management, and business-process reengineering. He also helps directs our work on “Value Assurance,” which is a methodology for helping clients capture full business value from large IT projects.

In advising clients in both the public and private sectors, Aamer combines his expertise in technology and finance. His recent projects include the following:

  • supporting a government agency in modernizing government-wide financial management through the use of common technology solutions, adoption of cloud computing, and scaling of shared services
  • helping a global financial-services firm transform the performance of its IT function by implementing best practices in IT-organization design, governance, business engagement, and delivery processes
  • helping a global IT-services provider design new offerings and improve its service-delivery model
  • working with a major public pension fund to design and implement a comprehensive technology architecture for its market risk function
  • helping a large payments processor conceive and launch a new company that offers Web-based payment capabilities to consumers and small businesses
  • supporting a government agency in creating a national strategy for electronic payments and collections
  • advising a consortium of investment banks on the development and launch of an industry utility to clear and settle credit default swaps and other over-the-counter derivatives
