My work has included redesigning an operating model for an insurance carrier, identifying the impact of recent technology trends for a telecom client, and designing the big data strategy for an agriculture client.
About Khushpreet
I was attracted to McKinsey because of the extraordinary talent of its people and the meaningful work it does in serving clients. I chose New York for personal reasons—my husband started as an associate there at the same time I did—and I’m glad because I personally believe that the New York office does some of the most interesting and varied work.
Meaningful work
The most rewarding experience for me has been the opportunity to work on such a variety of topics in widely differing industries. My work has included redesigning an operating model for an insurance carrier, identifying the impact of recent technology trends (tablets, mobile, and cloud) for a telecom client, designing the big-data strategy for an agriculture client, and performing a sales-and-marketing transformation for a high-tech client.
An amazing community
The New York office is a special place, and it is one of McKinsey’s largest offices—there are more than 500 consultants. I am part of the Business Technology Practice where I have found great mentors, coaches, friends, and co-workers over the past 2 years. Considering the size of the office, I have been surprised by the number of people who have offered to help me and have provided valuable advice. We truly have an amazing community here.
