Summary
Based on the team’s work, the client was able to spin off part of their business. The IPO of this business was quickly valued at more than the original value of the combined company. The effort to improve the core business resulted in structural, process and incentive changes, the creation of a shared services organization for back end services and, over time, the exit from businesses in which the client was uncompetitive. By streamlining their focus and simplifying reporting and operations over the next 18 months, the company improved their operating situation substantially.
