Simply complete our online application where you will be asked to fill in a few biographical core fields and attach your CV and cover letter.

Application Deadlines

  • If you are currently studying at a U.K or Irish university for a Bachelors, Masters or PhD and are due to graduate in 2010 or you have already graduated in the last three years, our application deadline for all McKinsey offices is 1 November 2009.

  • If you are currently working in industry, with more than three years of work experience, we accept applications for consulting positions all year round.

  • If you are currently studying for an M.B.A., please visit the relevant McKinsey school Website (where applicable) for application deadlines, or alternatively contact us with any queries.

Internships

  • The London and Dublin offices do not offer internships for undergraduate or postgraduate students.

  • Please refer to our Global Recruiting page, from early December onwards, for information on summer internship opportunities and deadlines for our international offices.

  • If you are an M.B.A. student due to graduate in 2010 and are interested in a summer associate position in the London office, please visit our Summer Employment Opportunities  page.

Criteria 

  • Successful applicants will typically have a minimum AAB at A-Level (or equivalent) and a minimum of a 2.1 degree (expected or actual) in any discipline. 

  • Your CV should include your detailed academic record from high school onward including A-Level grades (or equivalent) and subjects. Please note we will be unable to review your application without completed information. 

  • In addition to academic achievements, we place emphasis on extracurricular activities in which you have played an active role from high school onward. These could range from volunteer work, sporting achievements and musical accomplishments to entrepreneurial endeavours. 

  • Please also detail all work experience, including internships, remembering to include dates of employment, role description and tangible achievements.

Timeline 

  • On submission of your application, you should expect to receive an automated acknowledgement e-mail within 48 hours. 

  • From the time you submit your application you should receive a decision within three weeks.

If your application is unsuccessful, please note that we will not accept a further application from you for the same role, to any office, within a 12-month period.
