Tel Aviv consultants reflect the broad range of backgrounds from which we seek exceptional individuals. Our office is a mix of locals and expatriates. Over half of our consultants are Israelis, many of whom have spent considerable time abroad, either for educational or professional reasons. The remainder represent a range of nationalities, including British, American, Chinese, Italian, French, and South African.
Consultants arrive at McKinsey with a wide variety of degrees. Most of our associates have earned M.B.A. degrees from leading business schools, while others arrive with advanced degrees in nonbusiness disciplines such as computer science, law, and political theory. Business analysts typically join McKinsey with a bachelor's or master's degree. In addition to Israel's top institutions, our office includes graduates of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, INSEAD, and Wharton.
Because Israel is a country with compulsory military service, most of our consultants have served in the IDF prior to joining McKinsey, typically in elite units.
ALUMNI
McKinsey is perhaps unique in its commitment to its alumni—we even have a department for helping people find senior positions outside the firm! McKinsey's reputation means that its alumni are in high demand. Many now serve as CEOs or senior executives in leading Israeli corporations. Worldwide, McKinsey has been described by Forbes as "the best CEO launch pad."
