Among the partners, you will find a great variety of backgrounds, expertise, and sometimes hidden talents. Within McKinsey, our partners are well known for their strong commitment to reinvesting in the firm and its people.
Our Midwest office partners hold leadership positions in several of McKinsey's functional practices (including strategy, operation, marketing) and industry practices (healthcare, consumer goods, financial institutions, automotive, electric power and natural gas). Several of our partners are torch bearers for firm values, particularly in the area of people development.
Outside of work, our partners enjoy a mix of interests, ranging from race car driving to competitive cycling. Several invest significant time in community service, with many sitting on boards of nonprofit organizations in the area.
Two of our partners are core members of a rock band that provides entertainment at many of our office parties – The James O Band, named after our firm founder James O. McKinsey.
