There's no "right" background, school, or degree. Half of our new consultants come directly from an industry with work experience or hold graduate degrees other than an M.B.A. Lawyers and medical doctors, undergraduates and graduates with advanced professional degrees, as well as career-changers from many industries – all are welcome at McKinsey.
If you are interested in applying for either a general consulting role (e.g. junior associate or associate) or for a specific position listed in our current opportunities, you can apply on-line.
