Generalist Research is one of the largest and most rapidly evolving research capabilities in the firm. This growth provides its members with significant opportunities to contribute to the firm as knowledge professionals and play leadership roles early on in their careers.
Junior research analysts join us from premier undergraduate colleges. This role involves developing core research skills and an understanding of diverse industries/economies and McKinsey business practices across the globe.
Progressing to a research analyst, members focus on identifying an area of interest in an industry sector or functional domain and developing a deep understanding over time. We also offer this role to postgraduates hired with relevant work experience.
As a senior research analyst, members get aligned to industry sectors or functional domains. They play a mentoring role for the group, lead teams, and take up initiatives to shape the group's future.
Moving on to the next level of being a team leader involves taking on higher leadership responsibilities. In addition to overseeing multiple teams, it also involves building new capabilities/services in the Center and launching initiatives to expand the service line.
Through the years, our people have constantly reinvented themselves to realize their aspirations and shape their careers.
