Kanika, an analyst, shares her experience while working for the Italian office.
Morning:
The team in the Milan office is in the middle of an animated discussion on the semi final match between Germany and Italy last evening. My German colleagues are clearly not in a mood to discuss soccer with their Italian counterparts. My engagement manager (EM) wants to have a team meeting to discuss the team barometer results. We fix up a time for the evening and also give him an update on the progress in different work streams. I then join Christopher, the modeling expert on the team, in creating a discussion document for the afternoon.
Afternoon:
My afternoon is spent discussing the modeling methodology with the consulting team and fine-tuning some of the analyses from the previous day. Following this, we break for lunch. On returning, I try to resolve the outstanding issues on the modeling front before the meeting with our EM begins.
Evening:
We have an interesting barometer meeting where the team shares its perspective on how the overall study is shaping up and what additional inputs are required from my end. My EM also suggests that we should have an official team outing sometime soon. There seem to be no dearth of ideas for the outing, ranging from mountain treks to a day at an Italian spa! After the meeting, I sit down to work on the rating models and complete a document that the team would be sharing in an update meeting with the Credit Risk Officer the day after tomorrow. It is a working dinner tonight as almost everyone is too caught up with work. We start wrapping up our work after dinner and it is almost midnight when we leave the office to walk down the streets back to our apartments.
