Introduction
We began consulting in Portugal more than 30 years ago, and have maintained a regular presence ever since. In 1985, we opened a permanent office. Today we have around 100 consultants (most of whom are Portuguese) working full time in Portugal. A team of thirteen partners share responsibility for running our office.

Highest Standards
The work we do in Portugal mirrors the kind of work we do around the world. The Lisbon office serves five of the ten largest listed Portuguese companies and a significant number of other large companies and privately-owned groups, while around the world the firm serves more than a third of the top 500 U.S. companies.

Our projects in Portugal, as in other countries, are focused on three main management areas – strategy, organization, and operations (Exhibit 1). We pride ourselves on our rigorous methodology and fact-based analyses that are a common thread through all our work. But we never lose sight of the necessity to tailor every solution to the specific needs of our clients.

Client Partnership
The companies we serve are among the most innovative and ambitious organizations based in Portugal. Consistent with our firm approach worldwide, we typically work with CEOs to address problems from a top management perspective. Over the course of the last few years, we have accompanied many Portuguese executives in their strategic initiatives abroad to multiple geographies in Western and Central Europe, South America, and even Africa.

Broad Exposure
Consultants from several nationalities in Europe, America and Asia serve regularly in the Lisbon office, and most of the Portuguese consultants have acquired experience in other firm offices around the world. These inter-office transfers are actively encouraged as an important contribution to the professional development of our consultants.
