 Gurgaon is located in the state of Haryana and is one of Delhi's major satellite cities. It is considered a part of the National Capital Region (NCR).
More importantly, Gurgaon is the upcoming business locale. Not only has it emerged as one of the prominent offshoring destinations but many IT, pharmaceutical and automotive companies are headquartered in this city. In addition, Gurgaon has been one of the first to initiate the organized retail boom in NCR.
The city is well connected to New Delhi, the capital of India.
A few interesting activities in New Delhi are:
- Walk down Rajpath and the surrounding areas for views of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court, all built by the British. The fitness conscious can try out parks like the beautiful Lodhi Gardens.
- The many markets and bazaars of Delhi provide wonderful shopping opportunities. For a taste of ethnic India visit "Delhi Haat". It is widely recognized for its pan-India collection of handicrafts and clothing. Connaught Place (now called Rajiv Chowk) is better suited for modern shoppers.
