The project team met formally and informally for a week to outline the parameters of the project. Under the engagement director's guidance, the engagement was split into sub-projects and timelines were developed.
The team also divided the various tasks among each other so that individual responsibilities were clearly defined without undermining the collaborative nature of the team.
It became evident early on that regular client meetings involving various divisions would be necessary and we would have to manage and balance the various interests represented in these sub-projects. Our team members would have to actively support the client's sub-project managers in preparing and conducting the meetings.
