 McKinsey’s Hellenic practice began serving clients in 1997 using
international engagement teams. In January 2000 the Athens office was
established to better serve the increasing number of clients in Greece, Cyprus,
and South-Eastern Europe. Although our consultants are based in Athens, their
professional exposure covers a wide geographical and functional range. We offer
opportunities to work on client studies abroad, participate in consultant
exchange programs, and develop industry or functional expertise by joining one
of our numerous practices.
In addition to core client work, virtually all members
of the office get directly involved in building new client relationships,
developing knowledge in various sectors of the Greek business community, and
leading internal office initiatives. At the same time, the office's small size
fosters a collegial atmosphere and strong ties between our professionals.
Over the past seven years we have grown to about 60
permanent staff. Our consultants have diverse backgrounds, from history and
biology to economics and engineering, with one or two degrees (bachelor, masters,
