East London: world class centre for digital enterprise

In November 2010 we became one of the corporate sponsors (a group which includes CISCO, Intel, Google, Vodafone, Facebook, Trampoline Systems, LBI, Qualcomm, Barclays and Silicon Valley Bank) of an initiative to create a dynamic technology cluster in East London, building on the successful and emerging start-up community around Old Street and Shoreditch and extending it to include some of the facilities of the Olympic park in Stratford. With our fellow sponsors and with the help of all those involved in East London Tech City, especially the entrepreneurs themselves, we have published this report, which sets out a range of options for developing the cluster. This report is based on an analysis of the international experience of clusters and the results of lots of discussions with East London entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
