McKinsey is proud to provide both active and financial support to the Ikageng Itireleng AIDS Ministry, an organisation dedicated to the needs of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Our support goes beyond the significant financial contribution on a monthly basis and includes time and energy from consultants, support staff, and our families.

In 2007, we assisted Ikageng through:

• An office-wide fundraising effort—McKinsey was able to make a generous monthly contribution to the organisation that provides food and transport for hundreds of kids as well as education fees and infrastructure projects (such as a computer room) for high school kids.

• "Back to School 2007" Campaign—McKinsey and Ikageng volunteers took children from Soweto to school clothing outfitters in the Johannesburg City Center to purchase their uniforms for the year.

• Ikageng Children's Party—McKinsey holds a fun interactive day annually for the Ikageng children which involves various activities including face painting, T-shirt design, jumping castles, and various sports game.

• Important introductions to our clients and other McKinsey groups who have generously provided financial, strategic, and organisational support.

September 2008: Ikageng Children's Party—After the success of the 2007 party, we will again visit Elf's Hill Party Venue. The team has planned an exciting day with lots of entertainment. Volunteers welcome!
