History
McKinsey was the first top management-consulting firm to enter
the chilean market. We started in 1994 serving the local subsidiary
of an important multinational company. At that time, we didn't
have a "formal" office in Santiago and we used our still young
Buenos Aires office as a "launching pad."
During 1995 we developed a few new clients and our first local relationship. At that time, Chile had a very strong economy. Most companies were rapidly growing and there was not a clear need among Chilean top managers to use external consultants. In 1996, based on the early strong results achieved by our development efforts in Chile, the firm decided to officially open the Santiago office. Since then, we have served a broad range of clients across different industries, such as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, and consumer goods. Most of our assignments aim to develop new strategies and to improve current organizational and operational performance.
