A Week in the Life of Lasse
Assignment: A global industrial company wanted to optimize their company-wide organization structure. Special attention had been given to the country organization structures, i.e., the plan was to restructure each country organization according to the global best practices. Our team had the task to ensure the lean nature of the planned organization and to support the implementation process across Europe.
Goals for the week: This was the first week of the six week study. The goal of the first week was to launch the reorganization project in each country, and to discuss the initial views of the country managers on how to manage the implementation in their countries.
Findings: Although I had never worked in this industry before, I got well up to speed thanks to the support from my team members. Through out the week and for the rest of the project our team worked efficiently together; frequently sharing knowledge and brainstorming key issues as a team.
Impact on the client project: This week served as a great kick-off to our project. The project was launched during the week in all European countries with great success and enthusiasm. From talks with the country managers, some burning issues were raised, which were then resolved during the following weeks.
