Our Alumni
Leadership begins at McKinsey
Those who leave McKinsey find the leadership skills and network they developed here create opportunities that they wouldn’t have had otherwise. Our alumni are in high demand.
Pursue new opportunities
Many of our consultants go on to be leaders in both business and nonbusiness organizations. More than 150 McKinsey alumni are CEOs of companies exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue. Many are entrepreneurs—more than one in five start their own businesses after leaving the firm. Others head philanthropic foundations, educational institutions, and other organizations in the social sector. And some are in government or pursuing their passion for inventing, filmmaking, or art.
Maintain relationships
Regardless of where they go, alumni remain connected to McKinsey. They take with them their experiences, their expertise, and—most valuable—their lifetime membership in the McKinsey network. Our alumni team is dedicated to maintaining relationships with our former colleagues. We host reunions, topic-driven discussions, and other get-togethers in most of our offices.
We also foster networks among our alumni who share a common passion. Our McKinsey Alumni for Development is a group of former consultants who have a shared interest and passion for working with developing nations.
Through our alumni Web site, colleagues can look each other up, stay in touch with the firm, and find new job opportunities.
